Spring has sprung! This means it’s time for me to reorganize everything. I’m notorious for losing things so I’m really excited about the 7 A.M. Enfant Voyage diaper bag. I was a little skeptical at first when I opened it because it’s a soft structured bag, but I have to say that it is a wonderful feature because it also allows the entire bag and its included accessories to be machine washable! That’s an amazing option to have when it comes to anything that children can touch with sticky fingers. It also features padded handles and an easily removable shoulder carrying strap. Additionally, there are straps attached to the bag to easily hook and unhook it from any stroller. I opted for the lime green color because as I stated before, I lose things way too easily and the color makes it stand out when it is buried in the trunk of the car among grocery bags or stored away on a shelf in our dark hallway closet. There are other color options as well: black, blue, silver, orange and hot pink. The bag also comes in two different sizes. The one I am using is the larger of the two.
This week’s contents are:
- 6 diaper changes
- 2 grovia shells (with a soaker in each)
- 4 extra soakers
- disposable wipes
- 2 toys
- lotion
- coconut oil
- board book
- Water bottle
- sippy cup
- lunch box
- snacks
- sunglasses
- cell phone
- wallet
- make up clutch
- reusable shopping bag
I love the way this bag opens up–the entire top panel unzips on three sides and folds down–allowing you to easily access the contents of your diaper bag. The first thing you will notice upon opening the bag is that it has 3 large mesh pockets that provide additional visibility, which comes in handy when you lose your Chapstick. There’s also an attached strap and clip that ensures you never lose your keys. Did I mention I lose things? There’s also a fourth mesh pocket on one side and an additional over-sized pocket on the other. There’s an additional mesh pocket for the included changing pad that can be accessed when the bag is opened from the top as well as when it is fully opened.
Did you happen to notice that my dry diapers are being stored in the actual bag and not in a wet/dry bag? There’s a really awesome surprise coming up! I love that the interior is set up like a mini changing station.
The changing pad pouch fits the included changing pad as well as a small wet/dry bag that I usually bring with me with plenty of room to spare. The reversible changing pad is machine washable and can be used on either the water repellent or soft fleece side.
There’s also another interior pocket at the top of the bag which is great for the parent’s belongings. I usually carry a reusable bag and a small makeup clutch and they fit with ease.
Okay, so here’s the really cool part! There’s an included zippered pouch which is great for storing wipes, dirty diapers, etc. You could fit 2-3 soiled pocket diapers in the larger compartment. The front pocket could also fit a spray bottle of wipes solution and 4-5 cloth wipes. I use disposable wipes, but threw some GroVia boosters in the front pocket as well as 5 microfiber inserts with a flour sack towel in the large compartment for a size comparison.
I’m paranoid about leaking so I also checked to be sure that there wouldn’t be any messes by filling up the pouch with about an inch of water and letting it sit on the counter for about 30 minutes. When I came back, there was no leaking and the water level had not changed at all. So I’m confident in using it for the purpose of storing soiled diapers. It is also machine washable.
One of the other accessories included with the bag is an insulated water-repellent lunch box. It’s a pretty great size and is perfect for carrying snacks, frozen breast milk, or even prepared formula.
I love how easily this bag is packed up and how organized it is. I can get to everything without turning it upside-down and inside-out, so it’s awesome when you’re on the go. here is a fully packed, interior view:
This bag can also be opened just from the top, and even with an entire day’s worth of snacks and diapers, there’s plenty of room on the top for a baby carrier, blanket, or jacket.
The front pockets are also very generous and easily fit my phone, sunglasses, a pacifier, and a phone charger. They have magnetic closures, so they provide quick access to the things you need but also keep them secure when you aren’t trying to get to them.
The side pockets may be better for smaller items like a phone or mp3 player, but I try to keep water handy for both myself and my toddler, so I like that they can fit there for me.
In summary, I think this is an awesome bag for a cloth diapering family or a family with multiple children. The price point of under $100 is very competitive with other bags with similar features, and the accessories that come with it are very handy for life with a tot.
